2020, at Fair Haven Retirement Center. She is survived by her daughter,
Kimberly Kay, two grandsons, Dakota and Landon Nix, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Celia and Teddy Lembesis, and
her brother, Steve Lembesis.
Jo lived in Birmingham for most of her life and was a lifelong member of
Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She graduated from
West End High School and attended Auburn University. An avid fan of all
sports, her passion for the Auburn Tigers knew no limits.
She dedicated her working life to 35 years of service in the legal world at
Sirote & Permutt, PC.
There are no greater traits than those that defined Jo's life -- kindness,
generosity and compassion. Her smile greeted all those she met, and she
never uttered a harsh word about anyone. After a diagnosis of Alzheimer's
disease and COPD, Jo spent the last two years of her life at Fair Haven.
Her family thanks the employees there and at Compassus Hospice for their
care.
Visitation will be at 11 :30 on Wednesday, November 25, at Elmwood
Chapel; graveside service at noon at Elmwood Cemetery.
