Tommy Frank Johnson, 71, of Hoover, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Tommy was born on February 3, 1944 in Birmingham, Al. He met his wife Barbara at the age of 14 and they have been married for 54 years. He retired from Travelers Insurance Company in 1996. Tommy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at their lake house with friends and family. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather and loved by many. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Alexander and Zetta Mae Johnson; brothers Charles Johnson, Marlin (Buddy) Johnson; sisters Margaret Phillips and Carolyn Todd. Tommy is survived by, wife Barbara Johnson; sons Robert Johnson and Darryl Johnson (Carol); daughter Julie Scott (Tobin); sister, Doris Pair and 4 grandchildren, Ian Scott (Morgan), Rachel Scott, Lindsey Johnson, and Meredith Johnson. The celebration of Tommy’s life will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with visitation beginning at 10:00 to 11:00 am. The Committal Service will be immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks for donations to be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation. www.parkinson.org
