
Virginia Ruth McGill Bullard was called home on July 15, 2012 at the age of 91. She was born in Ensley, AL and graduated from Ensley High School at the age of 16. She married and moved to Radford, VA, as a young adult and lived there for over 55 years. She exhibited a deep faith throughout her life and was an active member of Central United Methodist Church. She participated in several community and civic organizations. She especially enjoyed her volunteer work as a Pink Lady at Radford Community Hospital where she received a 20 year service pin. She retired from the Radford News Journal. After an illness in 2004, she moved to Gardendale, AL to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. McGill (Ruth); an infant daughter, Mary Virginia; three sisters, Mary Nell C. Colvin, Royce M. Vowell, and Joyce M. Grady; a nephew, Jeffery Grady, all of Fairfield, AL; and a niece, Julie K. Wharton of Winchester, TN. Left to cherish Mrs. Bullard’s memory are her daughters, Tina B. McCloud (John) of North, VA and Patricia B. Bond (Harry); her grandson, Harry Bond, III (Lisa); great grandsons, Brandon and Brent Bond, all of Gardendale, Al; her sister, Jewel M. Kitchen of Sun City Center, FL; a brother-in-law, W.C. Vowell of Oakman, AL; and other extended family members. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and employees of Magnolia Ridge C and R for their care, kindness, and concern not only for their family member but also for the family. We also extend our appreciation to the members of Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for their Ministry to Virginia and her family. A private interment service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Bill Wolfe of Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Officiating.
