VIRGINIA BERNICE FRANKLIN, age 90 of Irondale, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Franklin, Sr.; son, William Rabe Franklin; son-in-law, Kenneth Robertson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Clarence Cole; brother, Billy Cole; sisters, Betty Weems and Geanette Laney. She is survived by her son, Robert R. Franklin, Jr.; daughter, Vicky Robertson; sister, Geraldine Simpson (Paul); brothers, Ronald Gene Cole (Ethel) and Jerry Wayne Cole; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandson. Bernice was a member of the Eastern Star Golden Rule Chapter # 6 and formerly of Irondale Eastern Star Chapter # 191 where she served as a Grand Rep of Delaware for the State of Alabama and received her 50 year pin. She also served as treasurer for both chapters for many years. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 9-10 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
