BENNETT, WANDA MCGUIRE 74 passed away on August 17, 2011. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Mrs. Bennett was a graduate of West End High School and the Alverson Drawn business school. She was employed by the Dale Carnegie Courses, the Jefferson County Health Department and the Birmingham Better Business Bureau. Wanda is survived by her husband of 55 years, James R. Bennett, daughters Brenda Parks (Benny) and Marsha Baker (Jeff), and grandchildren Lauren Parks, Ben Parks, Abby Parks, Grace Baker and Sam Baker, all of whom reside in Birmingham. Visitation will be held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 20th, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service immediately to follow. Graveside services will be at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Briarwood Presbyterian Building Fund.
