Wanda Lee Jefferson Hart of Jasper, Alabama passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Saturday, March 28. Wanda was born on November 27, 1931 to D.O. and Ozy Jefferson and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Wanda graduated as salutatorian of her class at Curry High School and later attended business school to pursue accounting. She lived life fully and intentionally- always traveling to explore new places, show horses as she built a reputation for excellence in breeding and lending her time and talents to benefit the Shriners organization.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Charles D. Hart, Sr. and her sisters Shirley Lee and Barbara Capps.
Wanda was a devoted mother to her two children Teresa (Ken) Price and Charles (Lori) D. Hart, Jr., a proud grandmother to Kristen (Matt) Broussard, Kevin (Kara) Price, Payton (Jordan) Bowling, Heather (Andrew) Guilbert, Zack (Emily) Hart and Chaz Hart; and joyful great-grandmother to William, Grant and Lucas Broussard, Jackson, Riley and Kennedy Price, Oxford and Tillie Bowling, Aiden and Anders Guilbert and Adeline and Cayden Hart.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1 at 1pm with funeral services immediately following at 2pm at Johns-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel and Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Price, Zack Hart, Matt Broussard, Andrew Guilbert, Jackson Price, William Broussard, Chaz Hart and Jordan Bowling.
Known for her fierce love and generous spirit, Wanda took care of everyone around her without question or condition. Her legacy of love and selflessness will continue on through her children, grandchildren and all those fortunate enough to have been loved by her.
