Wayne E. Scott

Dr. Wayne E. Scott, 83 of Trussville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Dycus; son, Michael Wayne Scott; and brother, Carlton “Pete” Scott. Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Billie Jean Scott; son, Stephen E. Scott (Kayla); grandson, Zachary Michael Scott; and daughter in love, DeAnn Ferrell. Wayne served in the Air Force for four years. After earning his Doctorate of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, he joined the U.S Army as a chaplain and retired as a Lt. Colonel after twenty years. Wayne served as pastor of Bethsaida Baptist Church, Good Hope Baptist Church, 85th Street Baptist Church and Deerfoot Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday April 22, 2022 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist church of Trussville on Saturday, April 23, 2022 he will lie in state from 10am to 11am with a service beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper, AL.
