Wendy Allyson Smith Stasiewicz, 57, went home to be with her sweet Savior on November 9, 2021. Wendy was born on August 23, 1964 to Tommy and Judith Smith in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas “Tommy” Smith. Wendy leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 18 years, Mark Stasiewicz; mother, Judith Smith; sisters Angela Gwynne Smith and Tara Smith Gearhart (Dale); nephews, Andrew and Tyler; family, friends, and her beloved cat, Stewie.
Wendy was a beautiful person inside and out who loved people. She had a compassionate servant’s heart that extended to her career choice as a Nurse Practitioner in the NICU. She won an award of excellence in her profession.
Wendy loved the Lord and her family. Spending time with them was a great joy for her. She had an infectious smile and laughter that brightened every room that she entered. She also had a very tenacious and determined spirit. She fought hard and never gave up on living. She exemplified 2 Timothy 4:7-8: “ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
A memorial service to celebrate Wendy's life will be held at the Church on the Bluff in Bluff Park on November 20, 2021 at 1pm.
