Wesley E Dickmann Jr.

Wesley Edward Francis Dickmann, Jr, (Paw Paw), 82, a resident of Springville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Wednesday night, September 2, 2026. Wesley is preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Helen McFarlen Dickmann. Wesley is survived by his wife, Susan Brown Dickmann; Brother, Michael Dickmann (Barb); Sister, Ruth Fowler (Jim); Son, Tony Annerton (Patty); Son, Eddie Annerton (Laura); Daughter, Lisa Rayburn (Al); Daughter Susan Hudgins (Michael); Stepdaughter, Jennifer Harbison (Brian); 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Wesley was born in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri on January 31, 1944, to Wesley (Sr.) and Elaine Dickmann. At the age of 17, Wesley enlisted in the army to serve his country. He spent three years in the army as a combat medic and was stationed at Fort Lewis and Thailand during the early years of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Hancock High School and later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Montevallo. Wesley worked for 32 years with South Central Bell and AT&T. He served in numerous churches, over the years, as Minister of Music and Youth, and had the joy of marrying many of his grandchildren. Wesley was a Certified Bob Ross Instructor, and taught art classes to many students at his studio, Happy Heart Studio. Wesley was an active member of CrossPoint Church, and recently moved his membership to First Baptist Church Oneonta, when he married his wife, Susan. Wesley was an amazing storyteller. He told stories of his time serving as a combat medic, accidentally removing an FBI phone tap in the D.B. Cooper investigation, but his best stories were the ones he told to his grandchildren. He loved telling the story about when Cinderella lost her slipper, and the big, bad wolf huffed and puffed and blew her castle down. His purposeful mix-ups of classic bedtime stories always kept the house full of laughter, and the grandchildren asking for more stories.

Above all else, Wesley Dickmann was a devoted Christ follower, mentor, and spiritual leader to those in his family, church, and community. He was unashamed of the gospel of Christ and lived it out daily. We are so thankful for his faithfulness to the Lord and the legacy he leaves behind. We know without a shadow of a doubt that he entered Heaven's gates hearing, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Visitation will be held at Crosspoint Church, 8000 Liles Ln, Trussville, AL 35173, on September 8, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Crosspoint Church, 8000 Liles Ln, Trussville, AL 35173, on September 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Springville Cemetery, 875 Robinson St, Springville, AL 35146, on September 8, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
