William Amos Gable
August 8, 1926 – April 25, 2021
William Amos Gable, born 1926 in Searles, Alabama, passed away at a long-term health care facility in Birmingham, Alabama on 25 April 2021.
After deployment to the European campaign of World War 2, Amos came home to serve at Vulcan Industries / Ebsco for 40 years. Amos was a third degree Freemason and throughout his life remained deeply involved with the Irondale United Methodist Church as well as the Boy Scouts of America. He found joy in both golf and gardening, always sporting a ball cap and a smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Ida Mae Gable, as well as his brother, Claude Gable, and other sibling, Pete Norwood. He is survived by his wife and partner of 71 years, Juanita Gable, his son, Dr. Mark Gable (Patricia Gable), his grandsons Drew Gable (Jessica Gable) and Christian Gable (Devaksha Gable) as well as his great grandsons, Shepard and Nolan Gable.
