William "Buddy" L Wilkie

William L. Wilkie age 87 of Vestavia Hills passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and a former member of Graysville First Baptist Church. Buddy was a US Army veteran, worked at US Pipe and retired from MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration). Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Johnie Cole Wilkie; daughters: Debra (John) Morgan, Teresa (David) Penley and Janice Wilson; grandchildren: BJ Wilson, Landon (Whitney) Wilson, Holly (Andrew) Burrow, Grayson Penley; great grandchildren: Abigail, Lydia, Cohen and Jake Wilson and Ivy Burrow; sisters: Dot Wilkie and Alice (Herman) Sumners. His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Lakeside Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
