Yvonne M M Fortner

FORTNER, Yvonne Marsh, age 78 was ushered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on July 19, 2012.  She was born September 10, 1933, the daughter of Nelle Marsh Brannon and J.T. Marsh.    She attended Fairfield High School and was very active in the Fairfield High School Alumni Association.  She loved her classmates and stayed in close contact with many of them through all these years.  After raising her children, she helped her husband in his business and later worked for 15 years at UAB.  She also worked for a number of years as a certified alcoholism counselor.   Yvonne was a woman dedicated to her Lord and her family whom she cherished. She also had a strong sense of patriotism for this country that she loved.   She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur C. Fortner, Sr.; daughters, Marsha Lynne Fortner and Dana Robicheaux (Robert “Bob”), son, Arthur C. Fortner, Jr.; granddaughter, Andrea Anglin Hooks (Jamie); sister, Mignon Marsh Wilkins (Terry); nephew, Terry Lee Wilkins and children; brother-in-law Wayne Fortner; nephew, Mike Fortner.   Visitation will be Saturday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel with a celebration of her life to follow at 11:00 a.m.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Covenant Baptist Church, 463 Russet Hill Road, Hoover, AL 35244; the Big Oak Ranch, P.O.
