

Alan graduated from Purdue University, where he was a basketball manager under Gene Keady. He served as a probation officer in Monroe, Owen and Montgomery Counties and was most recently a correctional officer at the Putnamville Correctional Center. Alan was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington.
Alan enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Colts football, Purdue sports and traveling. He was especially fond of Disney World and Sanibel Island in Florida.
He is survived by his wife; Angie (Shields) Macy, of Gosport; his two children, Emily and Ethan Macy, at home; his mother Rosemary Macy, of Lebanon, Indiana; one sister, Kathy Macy, of Lebanon, Indiana and his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Fran (Emmons) Shields, of Bloomington, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Macy.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, October 8 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomington with Rev. Frank VanAllen officiating. Family will greet friends following the service at the church.
