With a steady compassion that made others feel seen and cared for, Barbara moved through life with quiet grace and a warmth that lingered. She was deeply cherished by those who knew her, and even in life’s ordinary moments she could offer a well-timed, gentle humor—never loud, always welcome.
Barbara was the daughter of Mabel (Newport) Collier. She was married to Willard N DuBois, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Surviving are 3 sons, Daniel DuBois of Ocean Springs, WA, David Dubois of Bloomington, IN, and Steve DuBois of Orleans, IN; 1 sister, Ruth Ann Walcott of Bloomington, IN; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother; her husband; and her sisters, Mary Ann Taylor, Robertine Linthicom, Lennie Peyton, and Mistie Rerichman.
Barbara found joy in sewing and knitting, and she brought a thoughtful eye to interior design—creating comfort and beauty with patient hands and careful attention. Above all, she treasured spending time with family and friends, offering presence, kindness, and the sort of lightheartedness that made gatherings feel like home.
