

Born February 22, 1948, in Frankfort, KY, she was the daughter of Arthur Wade, Jr. and Mable Omega (Miller) Wade. Cecilia graduated in 1965 from Bloomington High School. She married William A. Hartfield on August 14, 1971 in Bloomington.
She is survived by her husband and mother, both of Bloomington; daughter, Nichole Hartfield, granddaughter, Zhaké Radford, both of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Wainona Collins and Cheryl Brown both of Bloomington; Patricia Bowers of Tecumseh, MI; and Paula Blewett of Columbus, IN; an aunt, Ruth Russell of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, several aunts, an uncle and a niece.
Cecilia retired from AT&T (Indiana Bell) after 34 years of service. She was an active volunteer of the Telephone Pioneers where she served as past president. She was also a volunteer in the Monroe County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program. Cecilia was a member, Evangelist, teacher, missionary, and treasurer of Mercy Mission Church in Bloomington.
A celebration of Cecilia’s life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at Day Funeral Home in Bloomington with the Rev. Donald Griffin, Sr. of Second Baptist Church in Bedford, IN officiating. Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hoosiers Hills Food Bank or Monroe County CASA, Inc., both in Bloomington.
