He was born in Westchester County NY, on January 7, 1935, the son of Frank, and Louisa (Scarangella) Diasparra. After high school he served in the US Navy, serving on the USS New Jersey. He began his career with Otis Elevator as a tool and die maker in the Yonkers NY plant. The family moved to Bloomington in 1965 as part of the opening of the Bloomington Otis elevator plant. Charlie eventually became plant manager and then director of manufacturing worldwide for Otis before his retirement. After retirement Charlie and Dottie enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his daughter Laura D. Schultz, her husband Michael, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Center,1413 E. 17th St Bloomington, IN.
