

Charlotte Sue Betley, age 79 of Bloomington passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Washington, Indiana on September 30, 1933 to the late Ralph and Essie Leonard.
Charlotte loved being outside, gardening and enjoying the sunshine. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed cooking meals for her family, including Christmas dinner this year. She and her sister Patty went “thrift shopping” or “junking” as they called it every Tuesday and Thursday. Charlotte really loved life; she enjoyed so many life experiences. She was witty, funny and touched the hearts of many and always had something nice to say about everyone.
Charlotte is survived by her two children: Connie D. Roberts; her son, Frank Healy and his wife Maria all of Bloomington; a stepdaughter and son in law, Patty and Jerry Maibuecher of Skokie, Illinois; three sisters and one brother Patty Campbell of Ellettsville; Juanita and Byford Carnahan, Jo Ella Nolley and Thomas Leonard of Washington, IN; five grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; an extra special granddog, Dickens and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles and Loran Leonard; Sisters Harriett Mattingly, Hester Cass and Verda Gregory.
Charlotte was a cherished and much loved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be deeply missed but always remembered.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
