Don was retired from Indiana University after 36 years working as a sheet metal worker. He was a lifetime firefighter of the Van Buren fire department. He enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, he will be deeply missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Lanni; his three sons, Chris French, Dave French and his wife Amy, and Brad French and his wife Sonja; a sister, Linda Kemp, and a brother, Mike French; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Flory.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2024 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
