

Eva Ruth Kinser Cochran, age 84, of Indianapolis, formerly of Bloomington, died Sunday evening at St.Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Born March 18, 1926 in Bloomington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Emma (Wilfong) Kompst. She owned Kinser Lumber Company in Bloomington, was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxillary and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and Alpha Delta Omega sorority, all in Bloomington. She loved the hobby of quilt making.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Higgins, of Duncan, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Cathy Kinser, of Indianapolis; her sister, Mary Taylor, of Clay City, Indiana; three grandchildren, Rachel Kinser, of Indianapolis, Nikki Thompson and her husband, Gene, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Robert Higgins, of Duncan, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Jacey Thompson, Shyanne Thompson and Braydon Kinser. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Kinser, second husband, Harold Cochran; brother, Thomas Kompst and grandson, T.J. Kinser.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ned Steele officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. and on Thursday 12 Noon to 1:30 P.M.
The family suggests to friends who wish that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
