

Gordon Edward Richardson, age 81, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday, November 22 with his family by his side in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Bloomington on September 12, 1934. He retired as a supervisor for Mulzer Crushed Stone where he worked at the Cape Sandy, Tower and Charleston quarries and was formerly with the Rogers Group where he worked in the Bloomington, Sieboldt and Springville quarries.Gordon enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and seeing new sites, dancing and riding his golf cart. He loved life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger. He also loved spending time with his family and his dog, Sophie, who was able to visit him in the hospital. He was a Christian for the last 19 years and attended Northside Christian Church.
He is survived by wife of 46 years, Rebecca (Blevins) Richardson; his children, Shirley Barrow and husband Ernie, of Bloomington, Mike Richardson and wife Susan of Huntingburg, Indiana and Michelle Sloan and husband Gil of Marengo, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Christie (Kenneth) Hardin, Bradlee (Julie)Barrow, Collin Tate and Shayla Tate; 2 step grandchildren, Falon (Dalton) Nickels and Tyson Sloan; 6 great-grandchildren, Kyle (Hope) Hardin, Cody Hardin, Kenna Hardin, Mallory Barrow, Morgan Barrow, and Bryce Barrow; 1 step- great-grandchild, Kaden Thompson; 1 great-great-grandchild, Jackson Hardin; one sister, Betty (Chester) Martin, of Ellettsville and two step-brothers, Eddie (Geraldine) Sira, of Pennsylvania and John (Betty) Sira, of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Richardson, his mother, Alma (Richardson) Richardson Sira, step-father, Arthur Sira, two brothers, Alvin Eugene Richardson and Robert L. Richardson and two step-brothers, Richard Sira and Jerry Sira.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at North Side Christian Church in Bloomington on Monday November 30 with Pastor Glen Stidd officiating. Burial will follow in Unionville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Monday.
