

Treasured son, Hunter Michael Chitwood, 18, passed away October 6, 2026. Born on April 21, 2008. Hunter was adored and will be remembered as humble, gentle, witty, hardworking & loyal. His smile and laughter were contagious as well as recognizable.
His passions include football, where he was a 4 year member, 2 year starting TE of the proud BHSN Cougar North football family and recipient of the 2025 Cougar Award. He was also involved in the BHSN Student Athletic Board & Cougar Leaders Program. He thrived in participating in the Unified Cornhole, Bowling and Track programs his Senior Year with the complete support & encouragement of BHSN teacher, Mrs. Brooke Fleener. Hunter excelled in the Hoosier Hills Career Center Program where he received the 2026 Outstanding Welding Student Award. He proudly graduated with a 3.925 overall GPA.
Hunter also was a competitive motocross racer. Hunter shared the dirt biking passion with his brother, Tucker for 10+ years. Hunter’s racing experience culminated in 2024 by winning a regional qualifier in the 250C class at Redbud MX in Buchanan, Michigan. This win awarded him an automatic entry into the coveted Loretta Lynn Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship where he finished 31 / 42 in the nation in the 250C class and 17 / 42 in the 450C class. Tucker supported Hunter by being his head mechanic for the week-long event.
Hunter’s mechanic talents will be desperately missed at the family business, C&C Equipment where he has been a lifetime employee. His date of birth in 2008 marks the day the family business acquired its first mass batch of surplus trucks.
Hobbies included fishing, hunting, golfing and repairing every one of his Ford vehicles. Hunter was lucky enough to be gifted with a best friend that spanned from Preschool – Present in Jake Flynn of Bloomington, Indiana. He was blessed to be loved by so many including his precious girlfriend Bella Bowling that he cherished of Bloomington, Indiana.
Hunter’s family hopes to continue his legacy by continuing to support programs and activities at BHSN in his honor.

Jordan Fulk, Payton Fulk (cousins) – Lafayette, Indiana
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather Bradley Fulk.
Services celebrating Hunter’s life will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, October 12, 2026 at the Day & Deremiah Frye Funeral Home at 4150 E 3rd Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47401. Traditional Funeral Service will be conducted by Matt Crosby at Day & Deremiah Frye Funeral Home at 4150 E 3rd Street, Bloomington, Indiana from 12:00pm with burial to follow at the Chitwood Family Cemetery at 8636 E State Road 45, Unionville, Indiana 47468.
