

Irene Venita Zmarly, age 94, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2024 at the I.U. Health Hospice House. Born June 23, 1930 in Adrian, Michigan, she was the daughter of William and Lois (Hunt) Davis. She worked in assembly at R.C.A. until her retirement. Irene enjoyed spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Barnett, her grandsons and her great-grandsons. She also loved playing card games, especially euchre, watching her favorite television game shows and I.U. Basketball. She was of the Catholic faith.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Robert) Barnett, of Bedford, one granddaughter, Kimberly Lowe; four grandsons, Travis Butcher, Randy (Katie) Butcher, Eric (Shannon) Barnett and Brandon (Tanya) Barnett, seven great-grandchildren; extended family, Tim and Kelly Butcher, Rick and Toni Butcher and Jim and Karen Newlin and special friends, Karen E. Cain, Linda Wehr and Kathy Donnelly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond J. Zmarly, on May 31, 2007, one daughter, Susan Rae (Zmarly) Dick, in 1988, one great-granddaughter, Joni Rae Curl and four sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens; 310 N. Johnson Ave.; Bloomington. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
The family suggests to friends who wish that memorial contributions be given to I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice.
