Beloved husband and father, son and brother, James Andrew Lerg, Age 29, died while on duty with the Indiana University Police Department. He had been an officer with the department for four years. James was a graduate of Zionsville High School and received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University where he also pursued post graduate work.
He is survived by his wife, Christie (Neubecker) Lerg, of Bloomington; his daughter, Jaya Lerg (at home); his parents, Dean and Katherine Lerg, of Zionsville; his mother and father-in-law, Dan and Kim Neubecker of Bloomington; his brother, Bryan Lerg, of Carmel; and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Kowalczyk, of Carmel.
A Memorial Service will be held at Day Funeral Home, beginning with a 30 minute greeting period commencing at 12:30 P.M. Saturday, June 4th.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Jaya Marie Lerg, at the Indiana University Credit Union, 105 East Winslow Rd. Bloomington , IN 47401 .
