Janet Elizabeth Doris

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Doris and her three siblings.

She and Ronald were blessed with, and survived by two children Jeff (Vickie) Doris and Shelley (Sara) Doris and three grandchildren Emmalee Doris, Samantha Doris and Lilliann Doris.

Janet graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. After a short time teaching, she found her niche as a Librarian at the Paris Carnegie Public Library for 28 years.

Janet was a lifelong member of Paris First United Methodist Church and could be found in the choir loft. She had many hobbies including dancing with Ron, collecting antique baby bottles, swimming, doing puzzles and was a voracious reader. Her 'secret code' can still be found in many library books, denoting she had already read the book. She also loved knitting prayer shawls, quilting and sewing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ron Doris scholarship through the Edgar County Community Foundation, edgarcountyfoundation.org.

Services are planned for Saturday, June 21, at 2pm at Edgar Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Paris Methodist Church.
