Janice Lynn Frissell

Janice Lynn Frissell, age 63, of Bloomington passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Born January 7, 1958 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Duplain) Frissell. Janice worked as an office administrator for I.U. Health Riley Southern Indiana Physicians in Bloomington prior to her illness. She enjoyed Saturday mornings spending time drinking coffee with a close circle of friends at many different venues in Bloomington. Janice had a vibrant, outgoing personality, full of energy and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, taking them shopping, to the movies and dining out. She also loved spending time outdoors and flower gardening.

Janice is survived by her loving family; her mother, Katherine Frissell, of Ft. Wayne, one daughter, Michelle (Mark) Franklin, of Bloomington; two sons, Peter “Tony” A. (Katherine) Sainz, of Des Plaines, Illinois and Matthew Sainz, of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Amelia Sainz, Harper Franklin, Greyson Franklin, Katie Franklin and Kimberly Franklin and four brothers, Michael Frissell and Thomas (Katherine) Frissell, both of Ft. Wayne, James Frissell, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida and Brian Frissell, of China.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, one sister in infancy and a great-niece, Maddie Gase.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St.; Bloomington. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be also be a gathering reception at Truffles in Bloomington at 1131 S College Mall Rd. on Sunday, August 22 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to share memories and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) program at Rush University Medical Center.
