

Janice Neely Rigsby of Bloomington, IN, passed away surrounded by family at her residence on June 25th, 2023. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Arthur and Lila Rigsby. Janice graduated from Moorhead State University and went on to work a variety of professions including, data analysis for IBM and Accenture Services and working for a law firm in Fargo, North Dakota.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Dynes and Kristine (Tom) Mangia; grandchildren, Robert (Maria Moralez) Dynes, Mason Adams, Aubrey Mangia, and Jordan Mangia; her great-grandson, Noah Dynes; and her siblings, Bud Rigsby and Faye Secoolish.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents and her cat, Chloe.
Janice was a vibrant woman who loved trying new things, going on adventures, loved birthdays, cross-stitching, genealogy, playing card games and scrabble, watching games shows such as “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy”, and sewing aprons for rescue chickens. In addition to these activities, she was a world-class cook and enjoyed traveling—having visited 48 states. She was incredibly supportive of her grandchildren; always attending their sporting events and spending time with them. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home (4150 E. 3rd St. Bloomington, IN 47401) on Friday, June 30th, 2023, from 11am-1pm. A funeral service will be held at 1pm. A burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
