Jeanette Ann Vanus

Jeanette Ann Vanus, 82, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020. She was born December 30, 1937 in Bloomington, IN the daughter of the late A.C. and Hazel Vernon. Jeanette was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1956. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, The Red Hats Society, Phi Beta Psi Sorority and she was very passionate about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a love of flowers and worked as a florist in Bloomington for many years. She will be deeply missed. Jeanette is survived by her two sons, Michael (Jane) Vanus of Indianapolis, IN and Timothy (Melissa) Mercer of Spencer, IN; three daughters, Teresa Mercer of Gosport, IN, Nicole (Todd) Anderson of Carmel, IN, and Tammy Brassard of Gosport, IN; a sister, Wanda (Chris) Stark of Bloomington, IN; sister-in-laws, Jo Vernon, JoAnn Vernon, and Darleen (Chuck) Johnson; twenty four grandchildren; thirty five great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Allen Vanus; five brothers, Tom, Charles, Robert, Barney, and Bill Vernon; and a sister, Wilma Vandivier. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Rose Sparks.
