Jerry Todd Smallwood

Jerry Todd Smallwood, 74, of Spencer, IN passed away on June 30, 2014 in I.U. Health Hospital. He was born in Bloomington to the late Ralph and Lou(Mercer)Smallwood. He graduated from the University School in 1957.

Jerry joined the US Army serving 28 years before retiring as a CW- 4 in 1999. He was head of maintenance at ABB(formerly Westinghouse) where he worked for 41 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the IBEWU.

He married Danise Darlene Hill on March 29, 1995 in Gatlinburg, TN. She preceded him in death in August of 2012.

Jerry was a wonderful father to his 5 children and loved his grandchildren. He was an avid reader, excellent handyman who could fix anything and was very tech savvy. His best pal was his rat terrier Molly.

Jerry is survived by his five children: Rick(Angela)Smallwood, Kelly(Tim)Black, Misty(Greg)Miller, Beth(Don)Like and Sarah Chapman. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his brother Ralph(Ruby) Smallwood. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Arrangements are entrusted to Day-Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home. There will be a private family service with military honors at a later date.
