

Solsberry – Judith A Black, 72, of Solsberry, died Saturday, May 27th, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born on September 23, 1944, in Greene County, IN to Russell and Dorothy (Helms) James. Judy attended Faith Assembly Church in Jeffersonville, IN. Judy was retired from Indiana University, Halls of Residence. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening and reading.
Judy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Van Dewayne Black. Together they had three children; Sandy Gale (Kevin) Crase of New Albany, IN; Connie Elaine Black of Seymour, IN; Tony Ray Black of Solsberry, IN; four grandchildren; Aaron (Jessica) Crase, Jeremy Crase, Zachary Eads, Ezra Eads; three great grandchildren; Audrey Crase, Brantley Morron, Krease Eads. Judy is also survived by five brothers; Russell (Kathryn) of Solsberry, IN, Bob (Rea Dawn) of Bloomfield, IN, Joe (Christy) of Bloomfield, IN, Jerrall (Rita) of Solsberry, IN, Donald (Paula) of Solsberry, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 at Day Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN, 47401.Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Faith Assembly Church, 1715 Old Potters Lane, Jeffersonville, IN 47129, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Brother James Allen and Bro. Kevin Crase officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery in Solsberry, Indiana.
