Obituary of Leah Kay Nunn
Leah Kay Nunn, 79, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Leah was born on September 11, 1942 in Shelbyville, Indiana and grew up in Clarksville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Harold and Juanita Blades. Leah is survived by her long time love, her husband, Ken Nunn, her daughter, Vicky Nunn Jarrett (Brad Jarrett) and her son, David Nunn (Evelina) and her two grandchildren, Katelynn Nunn and Jimmy Nunn. Leah attended Clarksville High School and when she was 14 years old, she met Ken Nunn. Leah graduated with honors from Clarksville High School in 1960. During her school years, Leah had perfect attendance in Grades 1 through 12. Once a year, the school would hold assemblies where all the students gathered in the gymnasium and awards were presented. Leah always received the Perfect Attendance Award. The last three years of high school, Leah received the Top Business Award each year. Leah and Ken dated for six years and then married in 1962. Leah and Ken then moved to Bloomington where Ken attended Indiana University and completed his undergraduate degree. Leah was by Ken’s side every step of the way, giving him the encouragement, confidence and love to help him get through school. Also in 1962, Leah started her career at the IU School of Business (Kelley). She started as a secretary and moved up into top management within the Dean’s office. After 39 years, Leah retired from Indiana University in 2001. Later, Ken attended Indiana University School of Law and Leah continued to help him in every way, both financially and spiritually. Leah was Ken’s anchor. Ken attributes his 55 years of success to Leah, as it is only because of Leah that Ken is what he is today. Leah cherished her family and friends. She held a very special place in her heart for her two grandchildren. She worked very hard through the years raising her children and then helping her grandchildren in every way. Leah attended all of her grandchildren’s school events including plays, sporting activities and recitals. The family had Sunday dinner every week for 21 years. Leah loved going out to lunch with her friends and shopping. She also enjoyed attending IU basketball and football games. Leah will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Juanita Blades and her sister, Marilea Isgrigg. Leah’s family would like to thank the loving care givers who took such great care of her through the years. A private family celebration of life was held Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
