Lisa Gayle Harrison, 62, was born January 23, 1964, in Bloomington, Indiana, to Sharon Ware and the late Herbert P. Goodwin. She departed this earth on July 19, 2026, at 7:15 p.m. Lisa was a resident of McDonough, Georgia.
At a young age, Lisa joined Second Baptist Church in Bloomington, Indiana, where her faith first took root and remained a steady presence throughout her life. She attended John Marshall High School and Bloomington North High School, later continuing her preparation for life and service through the Jobs Corp and by joining the Army Military Reserves.
Lisa held a deep belief in the value of education, pursuing learning through Vincennes University, fashion merchandising school, and Atlanta area tech. That commitment to growth and knowledge was matched by a forward-looking spirit that carried into her interests and work. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading novels, traveling, and exploring new entrepreneurial avenues.
On June 28, 1986, Lisa was united in holy matrimony with Lavanda Harrison. They made their home outside of Atlanta and, in 1995, joined New Birth Missionary Church.
With a heart for others and a life shaped by service, Lisa was a natural born humanitarian. She operated her own business as a Licensed Practical Nurse, providing care and support to adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities—work that reflected both her steady professionalism and her compassionate regard for the dignity of every person.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Sharon Ware; her devoted husband, Lavanda Harrison; her children, Jada and Jalyn Harrison; and her stepchildren, Marcus Harrison and La’Vanda K. Harrison. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Malachi Hanks, Jacob Hanks, Wynter Cathey, and Layliana Harrison. She is further survived by her sisters, Renee Tyler (Mark), Tina Styles (Sylvester), and Jennifer Jones; her brothers, Andre’ Goodwin and Nicholas Goodwin (Deborah); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
