Louise Tabor Shepherd, 100, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, in her home. She was born October 27, 1924, in Washington, DC to Wallace and Myrtle Tabor. She was retired from Stetson University.
Survivors include her son, Richard Shepherd of Bloomington; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Wallace Tabor, Jr.
Louise attended Stetson University in De Land, Florida before moving back to Washington DC and then worked on Capital Hill. In the mid 1960’s she moved with her family to Bloomington, Indiana where she worked at the Indiana University School of Music, in the mid 70’s she moved to De Land, Florida and began working in the Choral Department of Stetson University until retiring in 2015 and moving back to Bloomington. She was a member of the Lighthouse Society, her other interests include Lighthouses, the Ocean, Sailing Ships, being in the woods and camping. .
