

Marie O. Hedrick, 95, of Bloomington, passed away on January 3, 2015 at the home of her granddaughter, Daphne Kirkman-Moore and her family who lovingly cared for her the past four years. She was the daughter of the late John and Goldie(Polley)Hartman, born on December 21, 1919 in Bloomington, Indiana. Marie attended Smithville School. She married the late Mr. Everett Hedrick on January 20, 1937 and they shared 36 wonderful years together and attended and followed many USAC and Indy car racing events and enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains.
Marie was in the trucking business with her husband for many years, dispatching and bookkeeping for Hedrick trucking as well as working for the Bloomington Limestone Company. Marie was a past executive housekeeper at the Ramada Inn in Bloomington and a former Pink Lady at the Bloomington Hospital. She loved sports, especially IU Basketball, the Indianapolis Colts and watching the Indy 500 and Nascar races.
Marie is survived by her daughter Diana K.(husband David)Phillips of Smyrna, TN, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Hazel Hamm and Jean Chandler, both of Bloomington. Marie also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and her dear friend Ann Damon.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband Everett Hedrick, 2 sons: Richard D. Hedrick and Robert M. Hedrick, her sister Helen Fox, 3 brothers: Raymond, Bernard and Robert Hartman, granddaughter Jama Waldrip, 2 sisters-in-law: Florence Hartman and Thelma Hartman, brother-in-law Chester Chandler and daughter-in-law Sharon Hedrick.
Visitation will be held in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. officiated by Rick Robertson. Internment in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
