

Mary “Emogene” Arthur, age 91, of Bloomington passed away very peacefully and without pain on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her residence. Born May 4, 1930 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Henry Lloyd and Anna K. (Richardson) Fielder. She and her husband Robert of 67 years met on January 11, 1953 at church, were engaged on October 11, 1953 and were wed on November 11, 1954 in her mother’s living room. Emogene will be sadly missed by all who knew her and even moreso by her husband, Bob. Sixty-seven years together is a long, long time. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Bloomington.
Emogene is survived by her husband, Robert Arthur, of Bloomington; three sons, Robert (Debbie) Arthur, Jr. of St. Peters, Missouri, Jerry (Pam) Arthur, of Bloomington and John (Myra) Arthur, of Bourbonnais, Illinois, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Emogene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 4 at 12:30 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. with Rev. David Bebee officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington.
