Mary Frances Jeanson, 87, of Bloomington passed away peacefully at her home on August 11th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 2, 1935 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Elzie Floyd and Ruie Ann (Shaw) Vibbart.
Mary graduated from Bloomington High School in 1953 and worked in her family’s business Vibbart’s Grocery, where she met and married Rene Joseph Jeanson. They were married for 38 years until his death in 1990. She then went on to work at RCA for 36 years before retiring to care for her husband and family.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Deborah (Steven) Newton, granddaughter, Candice (Monty) Crandall, great-grandchildren, Benjamin (Amber Carmichael) Crandall, and Alex Crandall, and sister Janet (Michael) Chambers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rene Joseph Jeanson, her parents, three sisters Barbara Lou Vibbart, Connie Jo Vibbart, and Delores Jean Ritter, two brothers Roger Lee Vibbart and Phillip Michael Vibbart.
Mary was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Graveside service will be held at Valhalla Memorial Gardens on August 15 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to IU Health Hospice.
