Matthew Bradley Bergbower

Matthew Bradley Bergbower, age 44, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Bloomington. Born August 13, 1982, in Olney, Illinois, he was the son of Bradley Bergbower and Lori (Hicks) Bergbower Kline. Matthew proudly served in the U.S. Army four years (two years in South Korea) before being honorably discharged. He enjoyed looking back on his Army service, video games, baseball, fishing and listening to music. He adored his children, nieces and nephews and remained very loyal to his many friends. Matthew didn't miss a Chicago or St. Louis Cardinal's game whether in person on TV. Matthew loved to travel and see the world, he never met a stranger and made friends instantly with everyone.

Matthew is survived by his mother and step-father, Lori and Donald Kline, of Huntingburg, Indiana, his father, Bradley Bergbower and his fiance, Vickie Newton, of Illinois, his wife, Jill Bergbower, of Bedford, Indiana, one daughter, Salena Mae Bergbower; two sons, Felix and Kain Berbower; six sisters, Holly Hogan (husband-Mike), McKenzie Hicks Myers (Spouse Tim Myers), Kendra Blain, Krystal Sutt (Husband, Tadd), Tabitha Kline and Haley Schum (husband- Evan) and one brother, Kristopher Berbower (fiance- Abby Merkley), as well as grandparents, Jimmie Hicks, Gene Bergbower, Judy Bergbower, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother…….Josh McMahel, 1 sister Kelsie Kline, Grandmother Beverly Hicks, Aunt and Uncle Barry and Erin Bergbower, Niece Lyric Mercedes Hicks.

Celebration of life will be at a later point.

Services will be private.
