I just learned today of Monte's decease. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Tanglewood Festival in 1961 and then later when we were neighbors in Upper Montclair NJ. It was my honor to share the stage with her Prince, Giorgio, on many happy occasions, and to catch glimpses of their growing children as we nurtured our respective families through the New Jersey years. I last visited Monte and Giorgio on a trip to Bloomington IN where Giorgio blessed faculty and students with his knowledge and avuncular spirit in the latter years of his notable life. The Tozzis were one of the most loving couples I have ever known, and I was favored to be included in their circle of friends. Together now for all time, may they rest in peace.

Having been only a friend of Giorgio"s though the business of art, I can honestly say I met and spoke with her only a few times, but her deep beauty as a person will remain always in my heart. They were true artists and good, good people. All of my condolences and prayers for you.

My deepest condolences to you, Jen and Eric and your families. May the many memories you have with your beautiful mom be a source of comfort today and always. She was a bright light and left a wonderful legacy of loveliness, kindness, warmth and a God given voice of an angel. Her greatest legacy, of course, was the two of you and her marriage to your dad, her beloved "Angel Man." Much love, peace and comfort to you.
