Myra Sue Axsom, 80, of Bloomington died in her home Tuesday Morning, January 18, 2022. She was born January 10, 1942 in Bloomington to Charles E. Robinson and Opal Girdner Robinson. She was retired from Head Start. Survivors include her husband, Gary Axsom of Bloomington; her daughter, Robin (Toby) Sullivan; three sons, Scott Osborne, and twins Chad (Laura) and Charles (Jenny) Osborne; five grandchildren, Chase and Chloe Sullivan, Paige and Tyler Osborne and Caroline Osborne; one great grandchild, Omari Shaw; her mother and father in law, Ralph and Wilma Axsom; two brothers in law, Ralph “Bud” and Tom Axsom; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother in law Steve Axsom; and her first husband, Steve Osborne. Memberships include Unionville Church of Christ and Job’s Daughters. Myra acquired many lifelong friends over the years working in various ventures and memberships in organizations. Although her skills were mostly secretarial among other jobs of sorts, Myra was just herself with a warm big smile and a way to make you feel welcome and definitely make you laugh. Myra retired from Head Start which was found to be her favorite place of employment. Being the head secretary Myra made it a safe fun sanctuary for the kids to see her every day. She was such a special person at Head Start that the lobby was dedicated in her name. The family would like to especially thank her caregivers, Cindy Polley and Heather Arthur for their exceptional care of Myra.
