

Otis Gene Whaley, 73, of Bloomington died Sunday, February 16, 2014 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He had been a salesman for over 30 years for Full –O-Pep Automotive, he enjoyed cooking and working on cars and had attended Solsberry High School. Otis was born September 2, 1940 in Monroe County, Indiana to Lyle Whaley and Hazel M. Hudson Whaley.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Myrna Owings Whaley; two sons, Scott Whaley and his wife Shelly and Bryan Whaley and his wife Kelly all of Bloomington; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Vandeventer and her husband Russell of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeff Whaley; a daughter, Karen Rattliff; three brothers, Loarn, Rex and Bob Whaley; a sister, Ellen Chambers; and a grandson, Jeremy Whaley.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Day Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
