Paula was a loving teacher, gifted with children, and she carried herself with a steady devotion that was evident in the way she cared for others day after day. Those who knew her remember a woman whose compassion was not merely spoken, but lived—patiently, consistently, and with a loyalty that held family, friends, and students close. Even in difficult seasons, she was known for finding joy and humor in every situation, offering warmth and steadiness to those around her.
Her faith shaped the rhythm of her life. Paula was active in her church and led the children’s ministry, Kids for Christ, serving with a faithful heart and a deep sense of purpose. Music was another thread woven through her life and home; she loved to sing and led her family in singing specials at church. In later years, she continued to share her gift, singing solos at her church, Whosoever will, and remaining active in church services at Majestic Care.
After being diagnosed with MS in 1997, Paula devoted herself to fundraising for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, giving her time with the same steadfast commitment that marked all she did. She also expressed her creativity through the themed parties she planned for her teacher friends—celebrations remembered for their care and thoughtfulness. A passionate quilter, she made many memory quilts for her students and family, tangible reminders of her devoted love and the tenderness with which she marked the lives entrusted to her.
Paula and Daddy (Estil Lincoln Fiscus) adopted three children and raised them to love Jesus. She continuously poured out her love and happily spoiled her 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
