

Survivors include her son, Daniel Spulber; three grandchildren, Rachelle Rosecrans, Aaron Spulber and Benjamin Spulber; three great grandchildren, Blake, Chase, Ellie and Dane; a brother, George Joseph Kargeman; a sister, Lise Dufresne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Kargeman and Stella Cizinska Kargeman; and her husband, Nicolas Spulber.
Pauline was born September 8, 1925 in Paris, France. She loved Paris. Tragically, Pauline was taken by the Nazis and sent to Auschwitz. She was freed on May 9, 1945, which became a special day for her. Soon after, she met her husband, Nick, to whom she was married for over 50 years. Together, they moved to the United States and had their son, Dan.
Pauline worked as a librarian at Indiana University and enjoyed helping people gain new knowledge. She decided to further her education and earn her PhD in the department of French and Italian.
Pauline loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting them in Illinois brought her great joy. Her great grandchildren called her Special Me-Ma. Pauline will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
No services are planned at this time. Private entombment will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
