Phyllis Joann (Covey) East, 71 passed away peacefully in her home on May 22, 2018, surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born in Monroe County to the late Leroy and Onita (Roby) Covey on January 21, 1947.
Phyllis married Michael David East in Tennessee. He preceded her in death in 2002. She worked for 20 years as a waitress at The Village Inn and 10 years at the Steak-N-Egger in Ellettsville.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, taking care of her dogs and working on aquariums.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons: Daniel Ray Mobley and wife Valerie Mobley, Richard Wayne Mobley, two brothers: Richard Covey and wife Connie Covey and David Covey and wife Renee Covey, 5 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and her companion, David Hough.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert Lee Covey and James Michael Deckard, two brothers, Thomas Covey and Kenneth Covey and her sister, Kathy English.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401. The funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. also in the funeral home with Mark Hafenbreidel officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery, Bloomington.
