Well known for never meeting a stranger, she regularly welcomed in new friends from all backgrounds and walks of life. A dedicated homemaker in her early life, Joy spent most of her life caring for her family and home. Later working as a house maid and caregiver where she brought her signature kindness and warmth. She faced life’s challenges—including polio, COVID, and the later heart complications—with the well known strength and grace that inspired everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Paynetown Pentecostal Church, 4824 South Harrell Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Joy’s memory by singing a favorite hymn, sharing a song that lifts your heart, reading a good book, or performing an act of kindness in her name.
Rest peacefully, dear Joy. Your light and your song live on in all of us.
