Dick was a warm and friendly man who relished engaging in conversations with everyone he met. His humor was infectious, and he always had a witty remark or joke ready for any occasion. He had a deep love for animals and a particular fondness for cars.
Born on March 13, 1944, in Bloomington, Indiana, Dick was the son of Mary Alice (Mitchell) Wilson and Cecil Edward Wilson. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. Throughout his life, he worked for various companies, including Franklin Appliances, Westinghouse, Archway Cookies, and Evon Nuts. Eventually, he owned a 7-11 on East 10th Street and, until his retirement in 2016, Top Ten Video on Walnut Street.
Dick is survived by his two sons, Michael Thomas Wilson (Chris) and James Aaron Wilson (Tara). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lauren Wilson, Allyson Wilson, and Cooper Wilson. Before his passing, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Sue (Wilson) Mahan, and his wife, Nancy Kay (Holt) Wilson.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Day Mortuary. Visitation will be held on July 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with services immediately following by Pastor Daron Colgan. Dick will be laid to rest at Clear Creek Cemetery.
