Dad it has been 10 months and I miss you more than ever.  I love you dad and I would give anything to have you here with us.

I'm very sad to hear of Bob's passing. Over the many years that Bob was my mechanic, I grew to consider him a friend, as, I imagine, many of his customers did. My condolences to his family.

We are long-time loyal customers of Bob Chandler--Don't know what we we do without him.  Whenever we were buying a used car or had some mechanical riddle, we would run it by C&C.  I can think of one goofy problem with our Dodge truck that Bob fixed after many other experts gave it their best shot.  He was such a nice guy, not a mean bone. Tena, I'm so sorry to hear about Bob. I intended to be at the service but had the wrong information. I really liked him and it's sad that he had to go. I'll be praying for you and the family. I love you. Sorry I couldn't be there.

Hearing this makes me sad. I'm very sorry for his family and their loss. I really liked Bob, very much. I first met him, by chance, in the summer of 1986. I had an old VW Beatle and it was a Saturday afternoon around 1 o'clock and I was in serious need of a mechanic. I happened by a little cinder block garage up on the Hill on West 11th and saw this guy closing up his shop and I pulled in and asked if he could help me. Without saying a word, he raised the garage, pulled the car in and fixed it on the spot, and he charged me $12. I never went to another mechanic after that. Like most people, I don't like it when my car breaks down, but after I met Bob, it was never as bad as it was before, since I knew I'd get a chance to see Bob and talk to him. No matter when I came in, we'd have a nice conversation. He would not only give me good advice about my car, but also tell me funny stories, mostly about cars. Over the years I sent several people to him for car work, including students of mine who could barely speak English. He'd take care of them. I will miss him very much. He will continue to be in my thoughts. I've met a lot of good people, but I've never met anyone nicer.

I was so shocked and sorry to hear that Bob had passed away.  He has been my mechanic for nearly 35 years.  I could always depend on him wherever I was.  We got to know each other well because, until recently, we always drove older cars and I always had someplace to go and places to see.  I can remember calling him from Chicago with car problems.  He told me what he thought the problem was and reassured me that I was safe to drive home.  A few years ago I called him from North Carolina.  I was with my sister in her car when it began to make a very bad noise.  I said, “Listen to this, Bob” as I held my phone out the window.  “Do you think we should stop and have it towed in or drive on to the mechanic?”  He told me what he thought it was, and that was it.  When I first started going to him, I had an orange VW Rabbit that always had some unusual mechanical problem.  But I'm not a quitter, so Bob kept fixing it up.  Finally, one day he said, “Randi, you better think about getting rid of that car or you're going to end up replacing everything and the floorboard will rust out.”  That car was gone in a matter of two hours.

I will miss Bob--his caring, expertise, dependability and honesty.  I had hoped we would have a few more years to work together.  He liked the Old Route 66.  Sometime, somewhere in the great beyond, I hope he travelling there.

To Tena and the Chandler family.  Sheila and I are so sorry for your loss.  Bob was a great neighbor and friend, he always had a friendly way about him that made you feel at home. So sorry to hear about losing Bob. What a great guy and an asset to the community. I always enjoyed our talks and visiting about the different things he had done over the years.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Bob, but he sounds like a wonderful person. Keeping your family in my prayers through this time of loss. Celebrate all of the wonderful memories you have of Bob.

I am so glad to have met you Bobby.  You never seemed to meet a stranger.  You always tried to be a good man to all that you met. I know Tena, Stephanie, Erica, Cody, and all the grand babies will miss you.  To all of you my heart is so heavy.  Thinking of you in this time of sorrow.  Hugs for you all. Bobby was a very good man.  I never was around him when he wasn't smiling, he would help anyone he could.  I know Tina, and the girls, and Cody, will sure miss you Bob as all your friends will too. I sure was glad to get to know such a man as you Bobby.

I will always remember Bob.  Hard working family man. My prayers to the family.

I can't tell you how much I will miss him.  Such a good man.  He worked so hard.  And always put his family first.  I never saw a negative bone in his body, ever.  He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. His love of music was a big part of who he was, and I'll never forget how much he loved Brooks and Dunn.  I had the opportunity to meet them both, at separate times, and the only thought I had was, "I have to get their autograph for Bob, because it will mean so much to him". He was one of the kindest men I've ever met, or had the privilege to call my friend. I will miss you forever my friend, and my brother.  I love you.
