Robert "Bob" Lee Needy

Robert (Bob) Lee Needy, 77, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday May 28th, 2024. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Needy, and his father George Robert Needy. He is survived by his three nephews. Bob served in the United States Air Force from November 1967 to May 1971. He then dedicated 25 years to The Veterans Administration helping fellow veterans attain the services they richly deserve. He made it his life’s work to aid veterans and their families. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Indiana State University in 1973 and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University in 1982. Bob had a love of sports and played many golf courses across the country and attended many US Opens. He also bowled for many years in varying leagues in Bloomington. The family will hold a private remembrance service. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s name may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust.
