Robert Lee Price

Robert Lee Price, age 87, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Hospice House. Born January 1, 1937 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was the son of Vernon W. and Mary M. (Reeves) Price.

Robert spent countless hours over forty years at Westinghouse/ABB working in maintenance as a boiler operator, and later as a technician in HVAC, electronics and robotics. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Helena (CA-75). With age, his service to the Navy became increasingly important to him and passed as a highly patriotic American. In retirement Robert enjoyed traveling with his loving wife of 68 years, Margaret, and spending many winter weeks together in Florida. He was an avid fan of I.U. athletics and the Cincinnati Reds.

Robert is survived by his wife, Margaret (Crum) Price, of Bloomington; his son, Bryan (Kathy) Price, of Bloomington, his daughter, Cindy (Jim) Wright, of Brazil, Indiana; two sisters, Dianna Jukin, of Washington, Indiana and Marilyn Schrock-Rogers, of Ellettsville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Stephanie Riley, Brandon (Brittney) Hodge, Amy (Corbin) Calvert, Aaron (Kaitlin) Price, Benjamin Price, and Joshua Price and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Price, on June 30, 1994; brothers, Roy Price, Bill Price, Leon Price, Larry Price, and Kenny Price; sister, Barbara Flynn; and infant great-granddaughter, Cameron Riley.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (12/07) at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the I.U. Health Infusion Center for their care of Robert during his illness.
