Ronald Gene Clapp
October 14, 1940 – August 8, 2018
Ronald Gene Clapp left this earthly home on August 8, 2018. He was born October 14, 1940 in a farmhouse in Goshen County, Wyoming to Harold L. and Uva D. (Terrell) Clapp. His birth was attended by a mid-wife. He had an older brother, Larry, and a younger sister, Sandi, with whom he had a very close relationship. He grew up on various farms in rural Goshen County. After high school he went to the big city of Denver, Colorado to attend Park Business School. While there, he met Rosemary Johnson. They married and had two children, Regina and Rodney. They divorced, but Ronald was always a part of his children’s lives. Family was always very important to him and he always tried to maintain contact with his very large extended family going to as many reunions as possible. In his early life, Ron sampled various careers but found his niche with Frito Lay. He worked hard for the company for 20+ years before retiring. He was honored to receive salesman of the year. After living in Wyoming for more than 45 years, Ron began a new adventure and moved to Indiana. He met his wife, Nancy Haynes and they have enjoyed more than 28 years together. He enjoyed his retirement going to auctions, raising chickens, gardening and woodworking. A great joy in his life was spending time with his great grandson, Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Haynes, son, Rodney G Clapp, daughter Regina G. Pacheco, grandchildren Emily and Sean, step-daughter Tammy Haynes (Jeffrey Phillip Miles), grandchildren Craig and Cristan, several great grandchildren, including Dalton, his brother-in-law Daniel W. Palmer, nieces, Paula and Phyllis, nephews, Troy and Jon, friend/adopted daughter Denicea Jahns and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother and numerous aunts and uncles. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Valhalla Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Entombment will follow.

Ronnie called me on my birthdays and when he told me about Nancy, sweet Nancy. He had lots to say about their dancing
days and how he enjoyed being with Nancy. I asked him when they had gotten married and he said they had decided not
to marry. At the time I think he told me they had been together over 12 years. But all that changed and he proudly (I might ad)
said they did marry and you could tell in his voice he was happy and felt they had made the right choice. I went to visit Ronnie
and Nancy in 2016 and Wow, what a great time it was, short but fun. What a cook Nancy is and that Dalton, well, you could
certainly tell he loved them both.
Nancy, Regina. Rodney and to all of the family, you are in my prayers .
I am blessed to have spent a little time with you in these last years, your coming to my daughters wedding and my coming
to visit as well as the phone calls. Our memories will hold and I'll see you when its my turn.
Love to all, Cousin Judy
