

Roy Phillip Futvoye born 4/9/1929 Died 3/12/2012. He studied engineering at the GMI Institute which was interrupted by his call of duty for the Korean War. He served as both a Sergeant First Class and as a Field Observer for the US Army from 12/7/50 through 12/3/52. Once returning he finished school and started a 33 year career with General Motors, retiring in 1988. HIs many hobbies consisted of woodworking, golf, boating, and touring the USA in his recreational vehicle. His favorite spot where he enjoyed many months of "roughing it" with his wife Ann was Puerto Penasco, Mexico. His parents were Helen Mabel Hogan and Roy Phillip Futvoye. Roy was the oldest of 5 children, Katherine Gibbs, Teresa Micus, Joseph P. Futvoye, and Barbara Gibson. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Cieglo Futvoye, and six daughters, Pamela Shooner, Peg Sterling, Debra Baker, Susan Daneker, Mary Serbin and Colleen Futvoye-Colburn. His legacy continues with nine grandchildren, AnnCharlotte Tavolacci, Evan and Robert Sterling, Jordan Abbott, Roy, Elliot and Matthew Daneker, Austin, Michael, and Ryan Serbin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Center at Indiana University.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Day Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
