She was married to Walter Scott Richardson on October 6, 1945 and they lived their entire lives in Monroe County.

Survivors include her daughter Donna (Stephen) Todd of Bloomington, granddaughter Stephanie (Brad) Lindvall of Indianapolis, grandson Scott (Beth) Todd of Bloomington, and great grandchildren Joshua Stephen Lindvall, Grace Elizabeth Lindvall, Zachary Scott Todd, Abigail Rose Lindvall, Carter Evan Todd, Owen Fletcher Todd, and Lydia Anne Lindvall. A great-great grandson, David Andrew Lindvall will arrive in May.
She was a member of Southside Assembly of God which later became Bloomington First Assembly of God. Ruby and her husband were founding members of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in 1997 and were active in the church until declining health prevented their attendance. During Walter’s many years as a Gideon, Ruby accompanied him to speaking engagements and was active in the Gideons Auxiliary. She started worked at Indiana University as a desk clerk with the Halls of Residence in 1965 and retired in 1989 as an assistant housing manager. She enjoyed meeting and becoming friends with many undergraduate students during her career. One of her favorite memories was having Steve Alford call her “Mom” during his time at Indiana University. Ruby enjoyed homemaking, gardening, various crafts, cooking, and baking. She was famous with family and friends for her apple pies and German Chocolate cakes. Her family brought her the greatest joy of her life, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always anticipating the next holiday, birthday party, sporting event, or any other occasion to be with her family.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Cedarhurst Senior Living, Dr. William Schmalz, Dr. Daniel DeSalle, Monroe Hospital, and SouthernCare Hospice Service for the excellent and compassionate care that Ruby received in her final days.
